Ms. Christine Rizzi has been teaching in Franklin Lakes since 1996. She has taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grade in the district. Currently she is teaching fourth grade. She has been involved in Franklin Lakes serving on the School Safety Committee, Pandemic Response Team, QSAC Steering Committee, Faculty Mentor, Respect Committee, Language Literacy Committee ,Municipal Alliance Committee, and Math Committee. Mrs. Rizzi has been trained in Open Circle, Great Books, two levels of 4MAT, and Reading Workshop (Columbia University) through the generosity of the Franklin Lakes Education Foundation. Mrs. Rizzi attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. She graduated cum laude in 1994. Her career started teaching pre-kindergarten at a private kindergarten in Kearny, New Jersey. She has also worked at the Huntington Learning Center as a tutor and at the East Brunswick Kumon School. Ms. Rizzi graduated from Felician College in May 2002 with a Masters Degree in Education and Supervision. She continued her education beyond her masters degree and has earned an additional thirty credits beyond her masters degree in Elementary Education through the Rockland County Teachers Center. Ms. Rizzi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, scrapbooking, and exercising in her free time. She is excited to be working at Colonial Road School again this year. Ms. Rizzi's life-long dream was to be a teacher and she loves spending her time with the children and families of Franklin Lakes.

Teaching Philosophy

Ms. Rizzi's philosophy of education is each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating learning environment that is safe, supportive of risk taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. It is her desire to help her students meet their fullest potential. Ms. Rizzi was honored as Teacher of the Year for Colonial Road School in 2015.
